Calendar of Events

The Shanatu Qadishti (festival year) begins in September with the month of Niqalu and ends in August in the month of Ra'shu Yeni. Chudthu is New Moon and the beginning of the lunar month. Mlatu is the Full Moon. For more information on the holidays, see the Feast Hall. Month names given are from the Bronze Age Ugaritic calendar except where bracketed. Years are numbered with the rediscovery of the Canaanite city of Ugarit in early March of 1928, so September 1927-August 1928 of the Common Era (CE) is Shanatu 0, and September 1928-August 1929 CE is Shanatu 1. Excavations of Ugarit began officially on April 2, 1929: Rediscovery Day.

Eclipse information can be found at the NASA Eclipse Home Page, and moon phase information can be found at the U.S. Naval Observatory Phases of the Moon page.
